In the latest monthly platform stats issued by Google, the headline news is Jelly Bean now accounting for 60% of Android devices interacting with Google Play.

As the “Jelly Bean” flavour of Android actually accommodates three versions (API levels 16, 17 and 18) the nuances are to be found within the Jelly Bean moniker. Version II almost increased 50%, and version III more than doubled… Note that monthly incremental changes are never going to be dramatic.

See Google’s developers blog for the latest figures. (“Data collected during a 7-day period ending on February 4, 2014. Any versions with less than 0.1% distribution are not shown.”)
