Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 hits DSG today
A Tab for all screen sizes…
I’ve delayed writing about the latest Galaxy Tab until today, the official UK launch date, but now the latest in the Galaxy Tab range is available in Dixons stores. Samsung claims it as the lightest and thinnest 10 inch tablet available.
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 runs Android Honeycomb 3.1 on a Nvidia Tegra 2 processor and features a 10.1 inch WXGA TFT LCD screen, weighs 565 grams and is 8.6 millimetres thick.
Initially, the Wi-Fi only model is available (with 802.11 a/b/g/n connectivity), but a 3G version will be available at a wider range of retailers and operators later this month. Samsung names: Vodafone, Carphone Warehouse and Tesco.
“The interest we’ve had in the Galaxy Tab 10.1 since it was first announced at the beginning of the year has been phenomenal,” said Simon Stanford, Managing Director, Mobile, Samsung UK and Ireland. Our latest tablet device in the Galaxy range is an example of Samsung’s ongoing innovation and a clear statement of intent within the tablet market. we’re proud to be able to bring our slimmest, lightest and smartest tablet yet to UK consumers today.”
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 specs in detail, according to Samsung:
Samsung is covering its bases when it comes to the ideal display size… A seven inch display kicked off the Galaxy Tab range, the 10.1 inch display is available today, and an 8.9 inch model is on the way…
The next one in the range, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, will apparently be available in the UK later this year.
Samsung has released three videos to mark the launch
