Channel 4 wants to showcase your gadget
Here’s a strange one, that may tickle your interest.
Channel 4 are organising a new series called Future Family. All well and good, but what is of interest to Gadget Masters?
Well, it turns out that the show is about the gadgets and technology that a family may be using in the future, and the producers are apparently eager to hear from inventors and device creators about possible domestic gadgets of the future, that “could change the lives of ordinary families”…
In the words of the press release:
Future Family is a new five-part TV and web-based documentary series, due to broadcast later this year that will follow an average family as their lives and home are transformed by next-generation technology.
Whether you’ve got a cracking gizmo for saving time and energy in the kitchen, a gadget that will change the face of working from home forever or a superb idea of how to heat a house more efficiently – we want to hear from you. Your invention could feature in the Future Family programme or in our series of online videos.
Energy efficiency is apparently also going to be a big theme of the show (which will be sponsored by the electricity supplier E.ON).
“We’re on a mission to get the nation energy fit and we’re committed to being a leading force behind innovations in the energy industry, says Jeremy Davies, marketing director of E.ON’s Energy Solutions Business. “It’s vital that everyone understands the importance of energy and that’s why we’re searching for cutting edge developments which will provide new and unique ways to help customers become more energy efficient.”
How do you enter your product? They ask you to visit www.futurefamily.co.uk. Deadline for entries is Thursday 30 June 2011.
We’ve featured a number of gadgets for the home in Gadget Master – see Home is where the gadgets are, for example – so maybe this is a good opportunity to showcase your domestic invention!
