Arrow sets up online LED lighting design tools
Arrow Electronics has announced an onine application platform for the design of LED lighting systems, writes Richard Wilson.
Called the Lighting Designer platform, it incorporates tools for selecting and optimising LEDs, adding secondary optics, defining the power supply and selecting and laying out a design.
“This web tool enables users to obtain a quick mock-up of the elements that will constitute their final lighting product, by removing trivial calculations and time-consuming datasheet browsing,” said Stephane Rosa, lighting director, Arrow EMEA.
Each tool can be used independently to design and analyse individual components or together for the design of complete systems.
“Users can download their designs in PDF, save their designs for review later, and also collaborate with peers and Arrow field application engineers by sharing their designs,” said Rosa.
There are several LED system options, such as the “recommended,” “highest efficacy” and “least expensive” solutions. After selecting an option, users can see suggested alternatives and return on investment for a move to LED lighting from traditional lighting.Tags: emea, lighting design, lighting designer, peers, web tool
