LED Luminaries

LED news and insight from our technology editor Steve Bush, who has been messing with LED lighting for more years than he would care to remember.

World’s first liquid-cooled LED light bulb?

eternaleds - hydralux 4 LED.jpgThis one caught my eye over the weekend – Eternaleds is claiming the world’s first liquid-cooled LED light bulb, the HydraLux-4.

Apparently the comapny claims “that these bulbs produce “360 degree lighting” and can emit the same amount of illumination as a 25W incandescent with just 4W of energy.”

Thanks to Engadget for this one.

    Hi,
These Hydralux-4 bulbs are really nice, and the 360 degree lighting acts similarly to a small incandescent light bulb. This is pretty revolutionary in the industry as most LED bulbs are directional (good for spotlight applications, and can’t be used in say a table lamp, or chandelier fixture. There’s some pics on our site that show usage that can better explain. There’s a video on the site too if you want to see a live test.
If you have any questions about the bulb, say if you want pictures from certain angles, feel free to shoot me an email.
    Thanks,
    Jason.
