Fable: The FPGA That Wasn’t
There was once a company which was world famous for making glass.
Then it came up with a technology for making FPGAs.
This was in the days when the FPGA industry was young and, very many semiconductor companies wanted to participate in it.
A number of famous semiconductor companies including Toshiba, Motorola and Plessey licensed the technology.
But not one of them could use it to make a viable FPGA.
