Fable: The Company Which Overdid It
There was once a company which sent out a memo to its salesmen saying they should bid 10% lower on sales orders than their rivals.
The memo went on to say that If they didn’t get the order, they should drop the price by another 10%.
if they still didn’t get the order they were to drop the price by a further 10% and keep dropping it until they got the order.
However a government got hold of a copy of the memo and imposed duties on every chip sold into that country.
Moral: You can overdo things.
