Elon Musk For Apple?

How about putting Elon Musk in charge of Apple?Apple’s a company with loads of cash which has stalled on innovation.

Musk is the most innovative entrepreneur in America.

A marriage based in heaven?

Musk discusses the idea on Bloomberg News today

Asked if a merger with Apple would be a good idea, Musk replies: “They do have a lot of cash. I’d guess it ( a merger) would come from outside the auto industry. It would be a buyer with a very large cash position.”

Musk founded PayPal, sold it for $1.5 billion, founded and heads Tesla Motors which aims to build an affordable ($30,000) electric car, and founded and heads SpaceX, which is building a spacecraft which aims to reduce the cost of space travel by 10x.

One assumes Musk would do something a bit more interesting with Apple’s cash mountain than buy back its own shares.

And he certainly seems more Jobsian than the current Apple leadership
