The Ostrich Cycle
Motorola was the King of Phones when Nokia came along with a phone made to the digital GSM standard. Motorola stuck with analogue.
Nokia was King of Phones until Apple came along with touchscreens. Nokia, which had previously developed, prototyped and rejected touch screen phones, decided to stick with keyboards.
Apple was King of Phones until Samsung came along with big bright AMOLED screens.
Apple’s initial reaction was to say it had already determined the ideal correct size for a mobile phone.
So it’s good news to hear that Apple has asked its suppliers for samples of big screens.
So breaking the Ostrich Cycle.
