TI Moves Into New Factory
‘It’s Moving Day For Texas’
This was a headline, 50 years ago, in Electronics Weekly’s edition of February 15th 1961.
The story opens:
‘Things went with a swing when Texas Instruments transferred to their new factory at Manton lane, Bedford.
‘Space is being occupied just as quickly as the final touches are completed by the contractors.’
‘Already all the diode lines and some of the transistor production lines are installed and working at full speed in the new premises.
‘Among newer devices being marketed by Texas Instruments is the XB26 epitaxial silicon transistor.’
‘Texas Instruments’ solid state circuit specialist, Mr John Walker, told Electronics Weekly that the solid state circuit field is very active in the US.’
‘Texas instruments have one flip-flop unit readily available and there are excellent prospects of more types being marketed in near future.’Tags: john walker, moving day, premises, solid state, texas instruments
