ST May Exit CAC 40 On Friday

This week STMicroelectronics looks like falling out of the CAC 40, France!s index of leading shares.

ST with a market cap of 5.7 billion euros looks like being replaced in the index by Free, the French mobile phone company, which has a market cap of 10.7 billion euros.

The CAC 40 is reviewed three times a year and the next review is on Friday.

Alcatel-Lucent was kicked out in last December’s review.

The Small Shareholders Group at ST is saying that shareholders at the next AGM of ST will have to look closely at The 8 year tenure of ST’s CEO Carlo Bozotti and ask if his contract should be renewed when it expires next year.

The SSG asks: Is the ejection from the CAC 40 the result of Bozotti’s management?

Oh dear, Jack, for poor old ST it’s just one damn thing after another, but it’s interesting that rhe replacement is Alcatel-Lucent which seems to have been transformed by their new CEO Michel Coombes who seems a real ball of fire saying and doing all the right things. Shows what a huge difference a CEO can make. Maybe there’s a lesson here . . . . . .
