Smile, Smile Smile
To the tune of ’Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag’, IBM-ers used to sing a song from the ‘Songs of the IBM’ collection which started:
“Pack up your troubles – Mr Watson’s here
And smile, smile, smile.
He is the genius in our IBM
He’s the man worthwhile
He’s inspiring all the time
On Wall Street he’s sublime. Fine
He is our own matchless President
His smile’s worth while.”
Do I detect a note of sycophancy? It would be interesting to see a modern CEO try to get away with this sort of thing at a company gathering.
