Acal Electronics has renamed its two electromechanical distribution businesses Acal Radiatron and Acal TC in a move which is designed to emphasise the extent of its wide-ranging business.
According to Richard Allen, executive director of Acal, the change will add greater stability and financial resource to what are already established distribution businesses. “It opens the possibility of pan-European deals with suppliers as well as allowing the businesses to benefit from the wider customer base within the Group,” Allen told Electronics Weekly.
Allen was also keen to emphasise the Group’s approach to technical sales and pointed out that this was already a feature of both the Radiatron and Townsend Coates (TC) businesses.
Both businesses are electromechancial component and system suppliers. Egham-based Radiatron carries a broad range of connector, enclosure and circuit protection products.
Acal TC in Leicester specialises in connectors and switch products. It also has its own connector assembly activity.
Other businesses in the Acal group include Stortech along with the Acal Technology and Acal Electronics businesses.
