Following the merger of Hitachi and Mitsubishi’s chip operations as Renesas, UK distributor Sequoia has confirmed it will continue to support the M16C microcontrollers.
“With this kind of dedicated focus we are anticipating double digit growth for the M16C in the industrial microcontroller business in the UK, having enjoyed considerable success with this range in medical, utility, security, data logging and point of sale applications,” said Stephen Manley, general manager for M16C sales at Renesas Technology Europe.
The deal continues the firm’s five year relationship in promoting the range of MCUs.
“The market is becoming increasingly more and more sophisticated, and the selection of core components like microcontrollers is increasingly based on a solution approach with detailed support,” said Nick Lidington, managing director of Sequoia.
Yesterday European distributor Silica announced it would be representing Renesas in the region, adding to the Hitachi account it already held.
