Wind River chief exec in surprise resignationRichard Ball
The chief executive at embedded software developer Wind River Systems has resigned and left the company with immediate effect, the firm said today.
Tom St. Dennis was president and CEO for over three years at the US company. He will be temporarily replaced by Naren Gupta, who currently serves as vice-chairman of the board.
The firm gave no reason for St. Dennis’ departure. “Over the past three and one half years Tom has worked tirelessly to lead Wind River through a transformational time in our company’s history,” said Jerry Fiddler, who remains as chairman.
In its most recent results, Wind River posted revenue of $48.5m, down 20 per cent on the previous quarter, and down 27 per cent on the corresponding quarter a year ago.
Net loss was $10.8m, an improvement on the previous quarter’s loss of $18.0m.
The firm said it has begun searching for a new CEO.
