20nm surge for TSMC revenue

According to Taiwan’s Economic Daily News, TSMC’s Q2 sales will leap 15-20% on the back of the 20nm production ramp and expansion of 28nm capacity.

Apparently new 28nm orders from Broadcom, Qualcomm and MediaTek persuaded TSMC to increase 28nm capacity at its Fab15 by 10% from the current level of 7-8,000wpm..

Contributing to the sales jump will be the ramp-up of 20nm production capacity.

TSMC expects Q2 revenues will be a record, beating the $5.38 billion of Q3 2013.
