Adlink buys German embedded PC firm Penta

Adlink Technology has announced the acquisition of Penta, a German manufacturer of medical embedded PC systems and monitors, for €5.4m.

“By leveraging Penta’s solid design methodology and manufacturing capabilities, Adlink’s medical product line can be effectively improved; this will also help to enable access to adjacent markets with similar critical requirements,” said Jim Liu, CEO of ADLINK.

“With the addition of the new technical team, Adlink will be able to provide better support to its worldwide customers in Europe and increase its global market share in the medical market,” said Liu.

Established in 1994 and located in Deggendorf and Puchheim, Germany PENTA has about 40 employees with a predominantly R&D and technical background.

“With the deep vertical integration of ADLINK we are able to offer our customers standard products, semi-custom and OEM products while covering the entire spectrum from electronics development all the way to the fully assembled and tested device. All from a single company, this translates into a notable high investment security,” said Penta managing director, Walter Steinbeisser.
