Good January for Euro semi sales

January European semiconductor sales were flat with December’s although 11.3% up on January 2013, reports WSTS.

The main drivers of the January sales in Europe were Discrete, Optoelectronics and MOS MCU, up respectively 4.6%, 2.6% and 2% compared to December 2013.

Overall, European semiconductor sales in January 2014 amounted to $2.958 billion. On a YTD basis, semiconductor sales increased by 6.1% versus the same period in the year 2013.

Measured in Euro, semiconductor sales were 2.174 billion Euros in January 2014, flat versus December and an increase of 7.0% versus January 2013.

On a worldwide basis, semiconductor sales in January 2014 were $ 26.278 billion, down 1.4% on December and up 8.8% on January 2013.
