“For some time, digital radio has been established in the UK, Norway, Denmark, Switzerland and Australia, and following the launch of DAB+ in Germany in 2011, the European market is really beginning to take-off.,” said Hideaki Tsuchida, general manager, at Pioneer. “In the last two years, the German market has grown significantly and following the launch of DAB+ in the Netherlands in 2013, it is clear that momentum is building across the continent. There are growing signs of interest from several other countries including Italy, France, Poland, Belgium and Sweden.”
The firm is has gone to the UK’s Frontier Silicon for DAB chips.
“We reviewed solutions from a number of sources, but once again have chosen Frontier Silicon as our technology partner,” said Tsuchida.
