CSR secures Monster Android-tablet audio design-in
Standard Bluetooth technology has inherent latency of more than 150ms is not ideal for video or gaming applications. This is because there is a significant time lapse between the sound and video experienced by the viewer.
CSR claims the aptX Low Latency technology can mitigate this problem by delivering a total end-to-end latency of just under 40ms, well within recommended limits for audio and video synchronisation applications.
“Mobile gaming has exploded in recent years and this launch marks the point at which we will see the consumer market really open up to using Bluetooth for their wireless audiovisual entertainment needs,” said Anthony Murray, senior vice president, business group at CSR.
Monster also uses CSR aptX codec technology in its wireless speakers and headphones, including the Monster iSport Freedom headphones and the Monster ClarityHD speakers.
