Murata seeks PSU engineers for new centre in Milton Keynes

Murata Power Solutions has moved its Milton Keynes office to focus on sub-5W PSU design, and is looking for engineers.

“The previous site suited manufacturing and distribution operations that no longer take place in Milton Keynes, so the search was conducted within the local area for a facility that better met the requirements of low power DC/DC converter design and prototype manufacturing,” said Murata.

The company’s forerunners have been in the area for decades.

“We are proud of our continued presence in Milton Keynes”, said Murata Power Solutions CEO Tasuo Bizen. “Our company history has its origins back 60 years when the first pulse transformers were made by Newport Instruments.”

The company is keen to attract power design engineers to its design centre, and also points out that it has an apprenticeship programme: “Young people join the company and spend time in each department prior to finding their niche, a number becoming electronics engineers.”

Milton Keynes is on of the firm’s six design centres. Others are in Canada, United States, China and Japan.
