Samsung US tablet ban lifted
The US ban on imports of the Samsung 10″ Galaxy tab has been lifted, allowing the tablet to go on sale in the US.
Apple had got the court to impose the ban on the grounds that the tablet looked like the iPad. The court imposed a fine of $1bn on Samsung.
Yesterday, a US jury found that Samsung had not infringed Apple patents.
In London, the three judges in the case deciding whether Apple should be forced to run ads admitting that the Samsung tablet did not copy the iPad, have retired pending thier decision.
In July it was ordered by the High Court in London that Samsung had not copied the iPad and that Apple must place ads in UK media admitting to that.
If the judges decide against Apple then Apple can still appeal to the UK Supreme Court.
Meanwhile Samsung is suing Apple for infringing Samsung patents in its iPhone 5.
