Dialog Semiconductor continues on its merry way with Q4 revenues 22.4% up on Q3, whole-year 2011 revenue up 77.8% over 2010, and an optimistic outlook for this year.
‘For Q1 2012, we expect a strong start to the year with revenue for the quarter to be in the range of $160 to $166 million, delivering significant year on year growth and less of a seasonal decline over Q4 than normal,’ says Dialog’s results statement, adding: ‘we expect to maintain our strong revenue momentum throughout financial year 2012.’
The analogue and mixed signal company, which specialises in highly integrated innovative power management, audio and short range wireless technologies, announced Q4 revenues of $172m and 2011 revenues of $527.3m.
Q4 revenue was 96.5% up on Q4 2010. ‘This revenue growth was primarily driven by the success of our customers in the smartphone and tablet pc market,’ says Dialog.
Year-end cash was $113.6m. 2011 operating profit was $61.6m. 2011 gross margin was 39.5% down from last year’s 46.3%, affected by the product mix increasingly reflecting the higher volume customer contracts together with higher material costs.
The acquisition of SiTel last year strengthened its position in short-range wireless.
