Toshiba has brought out a full-bridge DC motor driver IC incorporating a standby function that realizes power supply current in standby mode of 0.1µA or less.

The TB67H301FTG is designed for use in industrial and consumer equipment where extending battery life or time between charging is important. Typical applications are expected to include printers, vending machines and home appliances.

The chip has a leadless WQFN24 package with dimensions of 4.0 x 4.0 x 0.75mm.

This reduces the mounting area to one third that of equivalent products, contributing to a reduction in equipment size and the reduction of PCB cost.

The package realizes the same absolute maximum ratings for voltage and current value as equivalent products (40V/6V: 3.0A).

The operating ranges for the power supply voltage for the motor are 4.5 to 38V; and for control are 3.0 to 5.5V.

The IC incorporates an overcurrent shutdown circuit, under voltage lockout circuit and thermal shutdown circuit.

Other features include forward/reverse/short brake/stop function and PWM constant-current control.
