TSMC ran 52,000 28nm wafers in November

TSMC made 52,000  28nm 300mm wafers in November at its Fab 15 in the


This month the company is expected to make 75-80,000 28nm wafers.


First production of 28nm wafers took place in October 2010 at Fab 15. In Q2 this year the fab was running 10,000 wpm.


TSMC is currently equipping modules 4 and 5 of Fab 15 which are expected to be in volume production in Q2 2013 by which time the fab will have cost $10.3bn.


Next year, TSMC reckons 28nm will account for 30% of its revenue.
