Intel Atom embedded PC is stainless steel
AAEON has introduced a stainless steel embedded computer designed for applications that require waterproof, dustproof and anti-corrosion standards.
“With an IP67 certification, AEC-6511 has waterproof and dustproof properties that make it eligible to be used in harsh environments,” said Barnabas Chen, product manager of AAEON’s Panel Appliance & Automation Division.
The computer’s anti-corrosion properties make it suitable for food processing, car and washing and oil refinery applications.
The AEC-6511 is based on an Intel Atom N270 processor and 945GSE + ICH7M chipset.
The PPW power rating is 10W. The computer has a DDR2 SDRAM SODIMM with a maximum of 2GB for system memory.
“The wide operating temperature from -20 to 55 deg C enables the AEC-6511 to be placed outdoors,” said Chen.
To satisfy storage requirements, there is a CompactFlash slot and a 2.5in SATA 1.5Gbit/s HDD bay. AEC-6511 has a Gigabit Ethernet port for fast networking connections.
AEC-6511 offers two USB2.0 ports, two COM ports, one power input and one power switch.
Moreover, system developers are able to use the Mini card and Mini PCI for WiFi and other expansion purposes.
