Quad-core Cortex-A9 development kit from Freescale
Element14 is to sell a Freescale quad core ARM Cortex-A9 development kit.
Called MCIMX6Q-SL, the kit is based around a i.MX 6Quad processor and is intended as a development platform for multimedia and infotainment applications.
The cores operate at 1GHz and the hardware includes 1Gbyte of 64bit wide DDR memory, three display ports, two camera ports and high-speed USB and Ethernet connections. Both 1080p60 and 3D video playback are possible.
The package includes LinuxLink Free Edition for Freescale SABRE Lite Design from TimeSys, which provides a kernel, toolchain and debugger, a free software development kit and demo code.
There is also 30 day access to TimeStorm IDE for application development and 30 day first line technical support from Timesys.
