Arrow puts FPGA power design in the cloud
Arrow Electronics launched a cloud-based design environment for defining power supply systems to meet the needs of Altera FPGAs.
Called FPGA Power Designer helps with the design of power systems by providing verification of voltages and connections. It then generates a bill of materials for the design.
It provides default values for the FPGA power tree configuration and converter specification. Designs can also be tuned.
“Arrow FPGA Power Designer features leading FPGA products from Altera spanning the Stratix, Arria and Cyclone
series, as well as a wide portfolio of converters,” said Greg Provenzano, v-p of global engineering for
Arrow’s global components segment.
Designs has also be stored in the cloud to be accessed by engineering teams dispersed across several locations.
“Engineers are now able to accelerate an otherwise time-consuming process for designing and configuring power supply
systems,” said David Spragg, v-p of semiconductor engineering for Arrow’s Europe, Middle East and Africa
