EnOcean hires TI executive in global market push
EnOcean has appointed Matthias Poppel as chief operation officer.
This is a newly created position for the energy harvesting company and is part of a plan to open new international markets.
Poppel was at Texas Instruments where he was EMEA director for embedded processing marketing, and his responsibilities covered microcontrollers and microprocessors to wireless transceivers.
“In this position he was instrumental in leading a comprehensive product strategy that ensured market share growth,” said EnOcean.
Prior to this, he was general manager of TI’s C2000 controller product line where he took part in re-orienting the business.
His responsibilities at EnOcean include the management, control and organisation of technology development, including quality management.
“His extensive background in developing innovative products for international markets is ideally suited to carry out EnOcean’s development and business strategy,” said Laurent Giai-Miniet, EnOcean’s CEO.
“The company is opening up more and more new application fields – from smart home and consumer applications to solutions for industry, logistics and transportation,” said Poppel.EnOcean, Harvesting, power, TI
