Perpetuum designs energy harvester for Emerson
Perpetuum has collaborated with US firm Emerson Rosemount to design an energy harvester power module option for Emerson Rosemount’s 3051S Smart Wireless transmitters.
The firms propose the use of energy harvesting to replace battery-powered options for wireless industrial transmitters used for data capture.
Perpetuum said vibration energy harvesting power option can eliminate the need to change batteries for over 10 years.
Southampton-based Perpetuum’s Intelligent Power Module has been designed so that it is compatible with other forms of energy harvesting (e.g. thermal) when they become available and qualified for use.
Perpetuum will be showing its Vibration Harvester Intelligent Power Module at the Emerson Global Users Exchange in Anaheim, CA. October 8-10.
Paper presentations detailing the operation and benefits of the Perpetuum Intelligent Power Module (Session ID: 12-2158) will be presented on Tuesday 9 October at 2:00pm (Hilton El Capitan A) and Wednesday 10 October at 9:00am (Hilton Palisades).
