Micrel wins Wheels design-in in Malaysia
Micrel has announced that Wheels Electronics Manufacturing SDN, BHD, a Malaysian manufacturer of car and home security systems, has chosen its line of RF devices for remote keyless entry and RF access systems.
Wheels Electronics is a supplier to Tier 1 car makers around the world.
“By helping us design more cost effective products, Micrel allowed us to pass along savings to our customers, particularly in our antenna designs,” said Joe Tan, Director of R&D at Wheels Electronics.
“We maintain a long-term focus on the worldwide automotive market,” said David Schwartz, vice president worldwide sales, Micrel.
Wheels Electronics is the MICRF211 and MICRF21 general purpose, 3V QwikRadio receivers operating at 433.92MHz with typical sensitivity of -110dBm and 315MHz with typical sensitivity of -110dBm, respectively.
Micrel’s ASK Transmitter IC, the MICRF211 operates as a super-heterodyne receiver for OOK and ASK modulation up to 10kbit/s and the MICRF213 is a super-heterodyne receiver for OOK and ASK modulation up to 7.2kbit/s.
All post-detection data filtering is provided on each of the devices and the user need only configure the device with a set of easily determined values, based upon data rate, code modulation format, and desired duty-cycle operation. These products are ideal for industrial and consumer applications where simplicity and form factor are important.
