Foundry revenues down m-o-m; up y-o-y
Taiwanese foundries TSMC and UMC report y-o-y revenues sharply up, but m-o-m revenues sharply down.
UMC’s September revenues of $307m were 7% down on August’s revenues.
However, UMC’s $307m revenues for September were 11.45% up on the $273m revenues recorded for September 2017.
UMC’s y-t-d revenues of $2.73bn are 1.9% down on the $2.78bn revenues for the same period last year.
TSMC said that sales of $1.46bn for September were 12.4% down on August sales of $1.67bn.
TSMC’s $1.46bn September sales were, however, 30% up on the $1.13bn of September 2011.
TSMC’s y-t-d sales of $12.6bn are 17.5% up on the $10.75bn sales in same period last year.
