Zytronic projected touch display goes industrial
Zytronic has introduced an industrial-grade multi-touch display controller and scalable touch sensor based on projected capacitive technology (PCT).
It is designed to support 10 simultaneous touch points in large display formats, used in self-service, public use and industrial applications.
The design, which differs from infrared (IR) or indium tin oxide (ITO) based technologies, uses a matrix of 10 micron diameter copper electrodes embedded within a thick, durable glass laminate which is both impact and scratch resistant.
The ZXY200 multi-touch controller will initially be available with 22, 32 and 46-inch sensors, but the release of larger formats is anticipated later in the year.
It has a 4mm toughened protective front glass. It also works with gloved hands.
The system will operate with both Windows 7 and the upcoming Windows 8 operating systems. It can also be used in conjunction with multi-touch application software such as Nuiteq’s Snowflake and Omnivision’s Omnitapps platforms.
