Tiny quartz crystal has tuning-fork design
Seiko Instruments has introduced a miniature ceramic 32.768kHz quartz crystal which measures just 3.2 x 1.5mm and height 0.75mm in package size.
SC-32S is available with a load capacitance of 7pF, 9pF or 12.5pF.
The quartz crystals use a tuning-fork resonator processed in a photolithographic technology, which according to the supplier gives the devcioe its reliability, low aging (3ppm/year) and shock and heat resistance.
Ion gun trimming method allows very tight frequency tolerance over a wide temperature range (-40°C to +85°C).
