Infineon launches SupIRBuck regulators

Today Infineon introduced the PMBus SupIRBuck voltage regulator family of DC-DC regulators with I²C/PMBus interface.

The integrated PWM controller, MOSFETs and Bootstrap diode make them suitable For low outpInfineon launches SupIRBuck regulatorsut voltage and high current applications.

Due to the programmable digital interface with remote testing using telemetry, customers will benefit from reduced design and test times.

The SupIRBuck voltage regulators are for applications in data centers, network storage, wireless infrastructure, mass computing or industrial automation.

The devices can be  configured via PMBus and the configuration stored in internal memory. In addition, 75 PMBus commands allow precise run-time control, fault status monitoring and telemetry of parameters like V in, V out, I out, T or P out. The new synchronous buck regulators can also operate as a standard analog regulator without any programming and can provide current and temperature telemetry in analog format.

Infineon offers the IR38060 with an output current of 6 A in a PQFN5x6 package. IR38062, IR38063 and IR38064 provide 15 A, 25 A and 35 A respectively in PQFN5x7 packages. The devices are specified for the industrial temperature range of -40 °C to +125 °C.

The new voltage regulators support a high switching frequency of up to 1.5 MHz and high telemetry accuracy (I out +/- 5 percent). The accuracy of the reference voltage is specified with 0.5 percent. All derivates are available in high quantities.q
