Liquid flow sensor for nanolitres
Hero Electronics’ Sensirion range of liquid flow sensors are designed to measure down to nanolitres per minute.
By mounting the sensor chip on the outside of fused silica, PEEK or steel capillaries, totally media isolated, the flow is measured through the tubing material and a simple straight capillary forms the flow path.
The fused silica based, fully digital, calibrated liquid flow sensor SLG1430 works with a repeatability greater than 0.8 per cent of the measured value and achieves a fast response time of less than 50ms.
The device offers resolutions of 0.5nanolitre/min. Despite this the sensor will withstand liquid pressures up to 200bar. It is equipped with micro fluidic connectors for OD360 capillaries and a digital RS232 interface.
According to the supplier, the sensor’s response times in the millisecond range should allow users to monitor effects such as microbubbles.
