Tektronix has optical modulation analysis on scopes
Tektronix says its OM4000 series optical modulation analyser can now drive the DSA8300 digital sampling oscilloscope to perform analysis on PM-QPSK, QAM, and other complex-modulation signals.
The set-up, said the supplier, can provide higher vertical resolution than what can be accomplished with real-time oscilloscopes.
The DSA8300 provides 16-bit vertical resolution and 450µV RMS noise floor at 60GHz.
There is up to 60GHz bandwidth on four channels and timing jitter can be down to 450fs RMS.
The optical modulation analyser is used to characterise serial communications in fibre at a data rate of 100Gbit/s and higher. With coherent lightwave analysis capabilities, it provides the acquisition and display of constellation diagrams, Q plots, polarisation analysis and source laser stability to analyse optical fibre-based signal quality.
OM4000 support for the DSA8300 oscilloscope is available for order now, with delivery starting in June.
