International Rectifier has introduced a medium power Mosfet for Class D audio amplifiers.

With device parameters tuned specifically for improved audio performance such as efficiency, total harmonic distortion (THD) and power density, the DirectFET packaged device supports 100W operation into 8ohms without a heatsink.

The IRF6665 Mosfet has a typical Rds(on) at 10V of 51mohm and drain current of 19A at 25°C.

The Mosfet is priced at $0.52 each in 10,000-unit quantities.
