An evaluation board for Altera’s Cyclone EP1C12 FPGA and an evaluation version of the Nios II embedded processor core has sufficient memory resources to save programmes and data, namely 16Mbyte of SDRAM (32 bits) and 8Mbyte of flash memory (16 bits).
Available from EBV Elektronik, the evaluation board includes a number of serial interfaces for communication with other system components, including 10/100Mbit Ethernet, RS-232 and RS-485, as well as CAN- and I2C interfaces. Customised interfaces or expansion cards can be connected to the evaluation board via two pin headers with 12 I/O connections each.
The distributor also offers several Nios II reference designs with the evaluation board. These currently include a web-server application based on the OpenCore Ethernet MAC Core and a CAN controller.
The DBC1C12 evaluation board is 80x80mm and is delivered with the Byteblaster II programming adaptor, and a 220V mains adapter.
