Altera has introduced a new member of its low-cost Cyclone II FPGA family, which features 240kbits of embedded RAM and 14,448 logic elements.
A feature of the EP2C15A is its so-called “fast-on” capability, which is designed to shorten the power-on time of the device at start up, and enabling it to meet the 50ms requirement for automotive applications.
The Cyclone II FPGA family members EP2C8 and EP2C20 are also now available with the new fast-on feature.
The Cyclone series is available on 90nm and 130nm process technologies. Power consumption can be as little as 12mW of static power.
