Steatite notebook lightweight, fanless and almost indestructible

Steatite has announced the availability of the new V100 notebook, a rugged portable computer offering excellent performance whilst being almost indestructible.
Housed in a magnesium alloy case this notebook weighs only 2.2 kg and features a fan-less design. It uses a lower power Intel Core Duo 1.2 GHz processor, 512 MB DRAM and benefits from a removable 80 GB shock resistant hard drive. In addition a 180° rotating screen transforms the V100 into a tablet PC.
The V100 provides a choice of 10.4” XGA or 12.1” WXGA LCD screen sizes, as well as optional sunlight readable solutions with digitizer and stylus pen or touch screen to accommodate use under sunlight. It fully supports 3G, WLAN, GPRS and Bluetooth and has a built in waterproof camera.
The anti-shock mounting design protects the LCD screen and hard drive from damage and data loss. The keyboard, touchpad and all other buttons are spill resistant and the unit complies with the MIL-STD 810F and IP54 protecting it from liquid and dust ingress.
