Trident, one of Europe's leading technical franchised distributors of displays, announces the introduction of the Jima, a revolutionary 15.4 inch product which enhances their Smart Terminal range.

The Jima is built on a specific motherboard to embrace rapid integration into retail, point of information, industrial automation and medical environments. The CPU provides ample performance for embedded applications and is integrated onto the motherboard alongside the chipset, touch screen controller, card reader and all other system components to create a self-contained solution.

An embedded operating system combines the user friendliness, performance and flexibility of a PC with the low cost and extra security of an embedded solution.  Fanless operation minimises noise emissions, requires minimal venting holes and eliminates the need for servicing, enabling sealing to IP65 on the front face and IP54 to the rear. The rear of the unit also carries a VESA 75 standard mounting plate for flexible and easy installation.

The Jima has a range of modular options and peripherals that can be easily integrated and configured to the terminal, such as a barcode scanner, wireless connectivity, telephony, biometric security, camera, swipe card / smart card reader and TV tuner enabling the terminal to be tailored to your requirements.

The Jima is available with 3 different processing speeds and offers a widescreen option to the existing Smart Terminal range available from Trident which currently comprises an 8.4 inch, 15 inch and 17 inch solution.
