As an RF source with a frequency range of 9 kHz to 6 GHz, the SMB100A from Rohde & Schwarz, has been designed to cover all important frequency bands for RF applications.

The conventional analogue AM/FM and PhiM modulation modes as well as frequency sweep, level sweep, and LF sweep are also available as standard.

SSB phase noise of is specified at -128dBc (Typ.) and it has a high output level of greater than +18dBm across a wide frequency range (1MHz to 6GHz).

Another feature is its short switchover times for frequency and level, 1.6ms for frequency and 1.2ms for level. This will be a benefit for production and servicing applications in broadcasting, EMC, and automotive industries.
