Renesas Technology is aiming its H8/36079LF microcontroller, with on-chip oscillators, analogue inputs and timers, at motor control in industrial applications.
The H836079LF group offers pin compatible devices with memory sizes from 32 – 128kbyte of on-chip flash and SRAM sizes up to 6kbyte.
A 16-bit timer module allows the automatic control of many types of motor such as two and three phase brushless and asynchronous motors.
A real time clock means the device will operate off a standard 32kHz watch crystal.
There is an I2C interface and two high-speed serial ports.
The addition of a watchdog timer with independent on-chip oscillator and power on reset, and low voltage detection circuits simplifies the design of safety critical systems.
