Anders Electronics is offering its first product in user-machine display module which integrates the display with a processor. The module is intended for users looking to move their embedded display systems from monochrome displays to fully-interactive colour user interfaces.
The UMR-X10 measures 8.7x7.6x1.5cm and includes a 3.5in. transflective screen (suitable for indoor or outdoor use), running at a full VGA resolution with built-in touchscreen functionality.
It is pre-mounted onto and integrated with a fully-functional, custom-designed Windows CE 5 embedded computer based on a PXA270 ARM processor.
The module is designed to a range of interfaces supported by off-the-shelf drivers (from legacy standards to the latest protocols including USB, Ethernet and wireless LAN).
There is also a built in stereo power amplifier for audio outputs.
The supplier will also offer an upgrade path to faster processors, more storage and additional communications interfaces.
According to the supplier, the UMR-X10’s operating system and BSP is intended to support straight-forward design of a basic GUI using standard Microsoft tools, with their many pre-configured user interface components and easy integration with existing applications.
