Microchip has added a touch sensing user interface to its PIC microcontroller range with new applications software available for free download from the company’s website.

The company is providing full access to the source code, so designers can modify the algorithms and integrate them with their own application in a single microcontroller.

The downloadable Touch Sensing Software Development Kit comes with:

A user manual with quick start guide for building a touch sensing applications, application notes covering hardware and software design practices, source code for a variety of sensing routines and graphical tools for analysis of designs (using Microchip’s PICkit serial analyser tool.
