A new boxed fanless PC has been introduced by Trident, which provides an easy mounting solution by including both VESA and DIN Rack mounting options, making this an ideal solution for the Industrial Automation/Process Control and Digital Signage markets.

Trident can offer the Avalue EPC-3711 with either Solid State Storage, or a SATA 2.5 inch hard disk drive. It is a fully featured unit, with considerable external connectivity for such a compact solution, providing 2 COM ports, 3 USB 2.0 ports, RGB (15 DSUB), Dual Gigabit LAN, 6-channel audio, 1 Mini PCI, PS2 KB, mouse, and Compact Flash.

The EPC-3711 is powered by a 1GHz VIA Eden V4 CPU with VIA CN700 chipset supporting up to 1GB of DDR2 memory, and can run from just a single 5V rail.

The Embedded board features a Hardware Status Monitor to monitor both system and CPU temperature, and can automatically throttle the CPU if any overheating is detected.

The overall size of the PC is just 178 x 112 x 50mm, and only weighs around 1.2kg.
