Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX9235 10-bit, 400Mbps, 16MHz to 40MHz LVDS serializer. Coupled with the MAX9206 deserializer, this serializer presents a proven solution for camera interfaces (up to 400Mbps) in small form-factor applications.
Offered in a 3mm x 3mm x 0.8mm, 16-pin TQFN package that has a 0.5mm contact pitch, the MAX9235 is the industry's smallest 10:1 serializer-it is 88 per cent smaller than the previous 28-pin SSOP solutions. The small size and wide -40 degrees Celsius to +105 degrees Celsius operating temperature range of the MAX9235 make it ideal for the ultra-compact cameras used in production line monitoring, security, and automotive applications.
The MAX9235 serializes 10-bits of LVTTL/LVCMOS data into a single LVDS serial data stream. The MAX9206 then deserializes that single LVDS serial input into 10 single-ended LVTTL/LVCMOS outputs. The clock is recovered from the data stream, eliminating the clock-to-data and data-to-data skew that exists in a parallel bus. The MAX9235 can lock to a parallel clock in a wide 16MHz to 40MHz range. Its LVDS input and output signals meet the requirements of the ANSI TIA/EIA-644 LVDS standard, as well as IEC 61000-4-2 Level 4 ESD specifications (±15kV Air-Gap Discharge, ±8kV Contact Discharge).
The MAX9235 operates from a 3.3V ±10% core supply and is fully specified over the -40 degrees Celsius to +105 degrees Celsius temperature range. Prices start at $2.08 (1000-up, FOB USA).
Features
The MAX9235 is a 10-bit, 400Mbps, 16MHz to 40MHz LVDS serialiser.
This serialiser allows customers to reduce board size, which is necessary for miniature cameras.
This reduction in board space is achieved by the MAX9235's 3mm x 3mm TQFN package, which is 88 per cent smaller than previous 28-SSOP solutions.
The MAX9235 is ideal for the ultra-compact cameras used in production line monitoring, security, and automotive applications.
