AWS Cemgraft has introduced a fast track prototyping service which it claimed can turn around prototype or urgent low volume requests in five to ten days as standard, and when really urgent, the company has managed to deliver in 24 hours.

The Newbury-based manufacturer has set up a separate team to handle Fast Track projects that includes not only assembly staff, but also a separate project work flow team, so there is no disruption of scheduled production orders.

Once a project has been assigned, an operator takes full responsibility for that job, seeing it through all stages of assembly, said the company.

The aim, said the company, is to avoid the scheduling difficulties which can occur when fitting urgent project requirements into the regular work flow.
