The SIM960 analogue PID controller is the latest addition to TTI’s SRS family of SIMs.

SIM is a modular platform in which up to eight instruments share the same mainframe and computer interface. Unusually, both front-panel and computer operation is possible.

The SIM960 analogue PID controller combines analogue signal handling with digital control, giving the user the best of both worlds. 100kHz bandwidth control loops may be implemented without discrete time or quantisation artefacts.

The low-noise front end is suitable for noise-sensitive applications such as laser power and wavelength stabilisation, cryogenics and scanning probe microscopy. User-settable gain of up to x1000 can reduce the need for input pre-amplification.
